August 8, 2009
Since I joined Twitter I have discovered many great people in the online bookcommunity: readers, authors, reviewers, editors, publishers. They are all helpful, friendly and amazing sources of information. For me it's the best way to keep up with many developments in the romance reading world and the quickest way to stay up-to-date. Another added perk to Twitter is the easy and very direct access to contests held by authors, reviewer and readers. Since joining I've won quite a few books (both ebooks and print) either via Twitter or via blogs/websites.

I would kindly like to introduce a new feature on my blog.

The list of what I've won so far is as follows:
  • Sweet Persuasion by Maya Banks
  • Atlantis Unleashed by Alyssa Day*
  • Darkness Calls by Marjorie M. Liu
  • Blue Diablo by Ann Aguirre
  • Miss Firecracker by Lorelei James
  • Silent Blade by Ilona Andrews
  • Stolen Fury by Elisabeth Naughton
  • Taming Eliza Jane by Shannon Stacey
  • How to Tame a Modern Rogue by Diana Holquist
  • Colters' Woman by Maya Banks

*will not be featured in Wednesday Winners since I read this book and made and posted the review before I won this signed copy.

I decided a while back that wanted to highlight the reviews of the books I won and not just let them drown in the sea of many reviews that reside her on my blog. The reviews of each won book will be featured in a Wednesday Winner review post, on a Wednesday of course :D
First I thought to make it another challenge but with deadlines for the ARC reviews for ROOB, my personal reading challenge and the HARRY POTTER reading challenge I think it's not wise to give myself another obligatory reading and reviewing deadline. After all, it's not like I have nothing else to do with a 4-day-a-week job, a husband, a household, and a TV addiction next to an enormous TBR-pile, which seems to be growing by the minute. I'm not kidding!! So I thought of just reading the books when mood strikes me.
Some are 2nd books in series and I as most know by know I can't read out of order so that means book 1 will have to be read first before I can read the won book.

It may also occur that the Wednesday Winner post is not a review but an announcement of a winner of a contest held by me here on the blog or the announcement of a book won by me elsewhere. I think I'll just see as I go along. It definitely won't be a fixed weekly or monthly feature but will appear on the blog when applicable.

The Kick-Off on Wednesday August 12th is:

Miss Firecracker by Lorelei James
Book 2 in the Wild West Boys series and loosely linked to the Rough Riders Series.

She’s the match, he’s the fuse…an explosive combination

One year ago Willow Gregory entered the Miss Firecracker contest on a dare—and ended up with the crown. As a working carpenter, she’s not exactly the tears-and-tiara type, and after a year of walking the straight and narrow she’s ready to cut loose. Waking up in a sexy stranger’s bed with no memory of the havoc she wreaked the night before wasn’t quite what she had in mind. Nor was agreeing to his mandate—work for him at the tavern until she repays the damage. Or go to jail.

Blake West thinks he could possibly be the only man alive who could say no to a drunken, horny, naked beauty queen. There’s something about the former Miss Firecracker that makes him want to blow his Mr. Nice Guy persona all to hell. It helps that Willow is ready to dive headfirst into a no-heartstrings-attached affair. Which fits in perfectly with Blake’s temporary gig managing his friend’s bar. Every grinding kiss, every stolen touch leads to another…until a harmless little white lie becomes the detonator that could explode their chances at a happily ever after.

Warning: This light-hearted beach read features a hero hotter than the 4th of July and a feisty heroine who knows exactly how to pop his top.

Technically I didn't win this one via Twitter but via a Yahoo loop. But since I needed a review of a won book to get this thing going I picked this one.

Have fun and hope you regularly check by blog on Wednesdays!

I'm a chronic (e)book hoarder and my absolute favorite genres within romance fiction are contemporary romance and romantic suspense, but I don't shy away from historical, paranormal or erotic romance either. Even the occasional (urban) fantasy romance, futuristic and sci fi romance may make it to my Mount TBR. This is my corner of the world wide web where I let you know what books I'm hoarding, reading and reviewing.
